Have you ever thought about what your ultimate fishing day might be? If you’re like me, you’ve spent many a day on the water, and even a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work. HOWEVER, there are some things that, when they add up just right, make for the ULTIMATE DAY of FISHING!
My ultimate fishing day would probably happen during the Fall of the year because this time of year gives you a virtual smorgasbord of fish species to choose from. Everything is feeding up for Winter during the fall and in NC, there are PLENTY of beautiful days to get out on the water.
The perfect day for me would start early in the morning when I arrive at Cape Pointe Marina on Harkers Island. This place is situated just perfectly to allow me to get to my favorite fishing spots quickly and easily. As I fuel up my Bayrider 2460, I’m still thinking about the wide selection of fishing choices available on this perfect day. I always carry a large variety, from light to medium heavy Star Rods as these allow me to catch fish no matter where I end up or what I might get into. Each species is different and Star rods fit the bill for every occasion.
At this point, I could run to the ocean and catch some bluefish, Spanish mackerel, King Mackerel, False Albecore, trout, or redfish. Or, I could stay inside around the marsh areas to target flounder and redfish. In the fall (and winter) of the year on the coast of NC, there are fish to be caught no matter where I might look.
On my perfect day, I’d also take a little time to enjoy the scenery and possibly take a break from fishing while having lunch at the Cape Lookout lighthouse area or on the shore of Shark Island. Either place would offer a wonderful opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of nature in this beautiful part of the world that we call home.
My perfect day would end back where it started, at the marina, where I’d have a cooler packed with fresh fish that could be grilled upon my return home. Nothing’s better than freshly caught seafood. I’d probably watch the sunset from the marina while cleaning the day’s catch. I think my two goldens would most likely be swimming in the water and playing on the shore nearby, keeping a watchful eye over me.
Thus ends my perfect fishing day – and you can be a part of it too – just hit me up! 252-342-6911 gets you a chance to make some memories just like this!
